Who was Giuseppe Parenti

Giuseppe Parenti (1910–1994) was a distinguished Italian statistician, economist, and academic. His research made significant contributions to demography, economic statistics, and the history of prices. A leading figure at the University of Florence, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and later as Rector from 1973 to 1976. Parenti also played an important role in Italy’s post-war reconstruction and in the modernisation of the country’s official statistical system.
