The DATARIUM project stems from the essential need to equip individuals, from early childhood, with the educational tools required to navigate an increasingly data-driven world. Its mission is to introduce statistical literacy - the ability to understand, interpret, and evaluate statistical information - to children of primary education (ages 5–10), while providing educators, families, and communities with practical tools to support this learning.
DATARIUM aims to create an educational ecosystem of statistical experiences by gathering curated, age-appropriate contents. This lays the foundation for an activity center that transforms statistical learning into a holistic and immersive journey. We move beyond traditional methods by establishing an interactive laboratory where data is not treated merely as numbers, but as "data tales" revealing meaningful insights about nature and society. The emphasis is on the problem-solving process, including the specification of statistical questions, data collection, analysis, and the interpretation of results.
